People refuse the label religious these days. They treat it like a derogatory label even. Religion is clearly defined in the Bible in James 1:27 (KJV) as visiting the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep unspotted from the World.
The problem arises because, like so many other things God has intended for our good the devil and the world system has dispersed the label to things against the original meaning. The very antichrist system took the word “religion” and made it about greed, lust and excess.
There are a group of people who refuse to acknowledge Christianity and Jesus Christ as the way back to God because people have been raping, killing and pillaging in His name. Because of the activities of those generations before us who were out for gold, land and resources Jesus Christ, religion and Christianity have been misconstrued and translated into a religion of dominance, greed and destruction.
Satan told Jesus during his temptation that people would kill unjustly in His name and it has been going on ever since. From the Crusades to the Salem witch trails and Native Americans, Africans and Aborigines, even as recent as the KKK and the commission of African slavery, people have been killing, stealing and destroying all in the name of Christ (word play intended).
How do we keep falling for this when it is all clearly written in the Bible? Our enemy is well aware of this and uses this against us and in the destruction of the Kingdom of God.
Let us be religious, but let us be pure and undefiled in our religion and boldly proclaim the Word of God which gives us this right.
